I work with charcoal , oil , fabrics and other explorative materials sharing poetic stories of people through clothings they wear as a factor of Nigerian tradition.

Biography

ARTIST BIO Ezichi Nkwocha (b.2002) is a Nigerian visual artist from Ahiara Ahiazu Mbaise LGA in Imo state , Nigeria. He holds a B.A degree in Fine and applied arts department University of Nigeria Nsukka where he specialized in Art History. His artistic journey is a quest to creatively explore social commentary in human experiences and visually communicate these ideas to create awareness. Specializing in Drawing and Mixed media techniques, he addresses social-cultural and political themes related to African society. He is deeply inspired by situations of people in various environment, offering window into silent narratives that often go unnoticed. Nkwocha’s practice has earned him recognition as has participated in various Art exhibitions, mentorship programs and fairs. In 2023, he won the Drawing category at the LIMCAF alongside the El Anatsui Art prize and further participated in the Dakar Art Biennial ,Senegal 2024. In 2025, he won the Babalakins & Co Art competition leading to exhibition with Om234 gallery . His art has been listed alongside pioneer Nigerian artists in auction events including SOGAL Art Auction 2025 inspiring participations in group exhibitions like, The legacy (1952 Gallery), The artist commune 2025, Creative bloc etc. He has also been a guest speaker in the Artist connect show Enugu, International Art & Health fair, and other Pan African shows thereby connecting more audience and sharing his visual narratives to help create awareness and solve problems in the world.
